Haylen loves this ball
We had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings with all our kids and grandkids that could come. It was a beautiful day so we had it on our lawn. We invited Norm and Jolene Gosling to join us. They do so much for us and will continue to while we are gone. We appreciate them very much. We had dinner and then we played some fun games. We played the one where two people are called up and they have to get the rag in the bucket. Each of them pick up a stick to do this with. The first one to get it in wins. We had lots of laughs and fun with this. We also played what we called missionary tag where everyone stands in a circle then you link arms in couples. One person is it and tries to touch another person who is running in and out and around people in the circle. If the one being chased links arms with a couple then the person on the other side of the link becomes the one that is being chased. We had such a wonderful time together. We will miss everyone. Haylen was having such a great time. He is such a cutie. I will miss hearing "GG, Papa"

Called to Serve

Where will we go?????????
We were at the cabin and Jolene called to say that our call had arrived. We were going to wait until we went home to open it but the kids were anxious that we open it while they were all there. Jordan (Dani's husband) did not come because he had just started his new job with a law office so we decided to ask him to go and pick it up and take it to our house and scan it, then send it to us via email. He agreed to do this for us but he said "I will see it before you do??" That was OK with us. We got the email. The subject line said, in bold big letters, YOUR CALL. We clicked on it and it said "17 day diet, 3 chicken breasts etc etc" then he said "just kidding" The real email with the call then came. It was exciting to see just where we would be going. We were excited when we read that we were called to serve in the Toronto Ontario Temple as temple missionaries. We were to report to the MTC on Monday, Sept. 19/11

We immediately began to phone everyone with our news.

Visit to Julie and Kyle's

We went to Utah on April 28th to attend Lane and Audrey's wedding. We left a day earlier than planned because of a severe weather warning. Deanna came with us to attend Tamra's graduation from UVU on Friday. She then went home with Steve and Sheryl to spend the rest of the time with them. The roads were better than we expected.
We stayed a couple of weeks with Julie and Kyle and family. We had a wonderful time....shopping, eating, shopping and eating. We really enjoyed Lane and Audrey's wedding celebrations. They planned a picnic in the park for their reception and of course it got rained out. They had it in the cultural hall instead. It was fun to visit with so many relatives. Gregg and Jean had rented a house up on the bench for all their family. Of course the weather up there was even more intense than down where Julie lives.
We also got to spend some time with Kassi and Josh which was fun. We went to her place of work and surprised her. It was fun to see where she works and some of those she works with. We went with them to a session at the temple and then out for supper.
While there we were able to attend a session at each of the Draper, Mount Timpanogas and Oquirrh Mountain Temples. It was wonderful. I will post some pictures from our trip.
